Terms of Service

Last updated October 1, 2026

1. Agreement

By downloading or using gitKiman, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

2. What gitKiman is

gitKiman is a native macOS application for working with git repositories. It runs locally on your Mac; it is not a hosted service and does not store your repositories or their contents anywhere but your own device.

3. Your content

Your repositories, commits, and any text you write in gitKiman (commit messages, branch names, and so on) are yours. gitKiman claims no rights over them. The one exception is the specific diff text you choose to send through "Generate commit message," which is transmitted to Anthropic to produce a suggestion — see the Privacy Policy for how that works.

4. Third‑party services

Features that connect to GitHub or to Anthropic's Claude API are governed by those providers' own terms, in addition to these. You're responsible for your own GitHub account, access tokens, and Anthropic API key, and for complying with each provider's acceptable‑use policies.

5. Open‑source components

gitKiman is built on open‑source software, most notably libgit2 (LGPL‑2.1) via SwiftGit2, along with libssh2 and OpenSSL. These components retain their own licenses; using gitKiman doesn't change the terms under which that underlying code is distributed.

6. No warranty

gitKiman is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Git history is powerful and occasionally unforgiving — we'd strongly encourage keeping remotes and backups current, the same way you would with any git tooling.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, gitKiman's developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the app, including data loss.

8. Changes

These terms may be updated as the app changes. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

9. Contact
